Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I had my LMP on the 21st of last month and did HSG one month and 11 days back, and it showed that my left tube was blocked and my right tube had free flow. I took tablet Clomid from day three to day seven and had a regular follicular scan. Before eight days, the left follicle was 20 mm, and the right was 17.5 mm. I was administered Puretrig and Ovitrelle. Six days back, the left side ruptured, and the right side did not. The follicle size was around 16.5 mm on the right. Does that mean the egg has not been released from the right? What are my chances of conception? This is my third cycle on assisted fertility (on Ubiphene), and all the three times, I have ovulated from the left. Why is this happening? Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

As you mentioned, the follicle on the left side was 20 mm and on the right was 17.5 mm. So after giving the trigger, the follicle of the optimum size, that is 20 mm, usually ruptures. That is why left-sided follicles have ruptured, and ovulation occurs only from one ovary in one cycle and can be from either one. So do not worry and lose hope. Maybe in the next cycle right sided follicle will grow early and rupture. In this cycle, you know that the left follicle has ruptured, and the left tube is blocked, so the chances of conception are very minute.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
