Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I dislocated my knee over three weeks. It was put back in place. At moment, I can only bend my knee 30 percent then its starts to really hurt if I try to bend more. What could be the cause and what sort of exercise should I do to get my knee working properly? Are any medicines available that will help me bend my knee?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

In my opinion, you should get investigations done for your dislocated knee to see the level of damage that happened and also to rule out any avulsion or fracture associated with it.

Then coming to your range and movement, it is always possible to get movement completely. So, do not worry about that, just a couple of mobilization of the knee joint will get you full movement and few weeks of rehabilitation will get your knee strength back.

Firstly, get your knee properly assessed. Kindly get back to me with the investigation report of MRI knee, then we will plan a further course of action.

For now, keep icing frequently like once in every two hours for 15 minutes. Keep moving your knee gradually and gently stretch your muscles.
