Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have a pain in my right knee for the last three to four months. I feel severe pain while walking.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have seen your X-ray reports (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). It shows that you have severe osteoarthritis of the knee joint. Both the bones of your knee joint are damaged due to continuous friction in addition to your advancing age. Still, as per the reports, knee replacement surgery will be required for you in the next five years. I would recommend adopting a change of routine activities to slow down the ongoing damage process of the knees.

1. Avoid long walks.

2. Control your diet and weight.

3. Avoid squatting.

4. Use western toilets.

5. Avoid sitting on the floor.

6. Do cycling (gym or live) or swimming.

7. Do knee exercises.

8. Take proper rest.

I hope I have explained it to my best in the most simple way.

Thank you.
