Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 24 years old, male. I had LASIK one year before and now I feel dryness in my eyes. I use refresh tears but do not feel it effective. Please prescribe me any medicine so that my eyes does not remain dry.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Dry eye post LASIK is quiet bothersome, here are a few things you can try. Refresh liquigel has twice the concentration of the drug as in refresh tears. You can use it upto six to eight times a day. Some patients do report transient blurring with this medication which goes away in a few minutes. Hot fomentation is quiet useful in a majority of cases- Wrap your hands around a hot coffee mug making your palms warm, close your eyelids and give this warmth to your eyelids by pressing your palm against your eyelids or the traditional way is to soak a clean cloth in water that is comfortably hot, squeezing out all the water from the cloth and then pressing the hot cloth to your closed eyelids atleast for 10 minutes, twice a day. Clean your eyelashes and eyelids with cotton buds soaked in baby shampoo. Try to keep the area around your eyes and your eyelids as clean as possible. I feel you should improve with these.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
