Hello doctor,
I have a lot of pain in my left shoulder. It frequently clicks and pops and sometimes feels like it is dislocated. I have to lift it and pop it back into place every day after it makes a loud cracking noise and shifts downwards. I lift it with my right arm and push it back up until it cracks, which hurts, but then it feels better. I had an X-ray, and my doctor says it is not serious, but it hurts and is not normal compared to my other shoulder.
Kindly help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understand your concern.
From your query, it seems like you are experiencing something similar to recurrent shoulder dislocation. It most commonly occurs due to ligament laxity of the shoulder muscles. An X-ray will not reveal anything as there is no bony injury. What you require is an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) of the shoulder, which you let us know the exact cause of it. The cup of the shoulder ball has a seal called the glenoid labrum which often is damaged in recurring dislocations. If any damage to muscle, ligament, or labrum is found in MRI, then the only option is surgical repair of the structure and tightening of the soft tissue around the shoulder joint. Please review with me after the MRI shoulder with its reports and films.
Thank you.
