Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I noticed two small red patches on my glans penis one and a half years ago. Very mildly elevated, red, and maybe a bit shiny. I saw a different color and skin texture. Sometimes more prominent and visible than other times, but always it is there. And they are slowly growing. There are four patches now, but there is no itching, pain, or soreness. And they were never an open wound whatsoever. Is there anything I can do? I will appreciate any help. Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It is going more in favor of lichen planus of glans. However, classical cases of lichen planus are associated with intense itching, but some cases are not associated with itching. You can try Fluticasone cream once daily for two to three weeks to see whether it is subsiding or not; otherwise, you can leave it as such. Confirmation of diagnosis could only be made on biopsy, which in my opinion is not needed as it is neither growing in size nor symptomatic. I hope it helps. Regards.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the answer. It sounds plausible to me. I will see a dermatologist in my country, but I do appreciate your input. Kind regards.
