Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I tested positive for COVID-19 15 days ago and had no symptoms from the beginning. My CT scan values were 28 to 30. I remained in home isolation and kept monitoring my BP, oxygen level, and temperature. I have given my samples yesterday again and waiting for my report to come. My question is that I have found that my BP is always a little low during the regular monitoring of my BP, somewhere around 105/60 mm Hg. At times the lower value came to 57 to 58 mm Hg as well. Is it normal during COVID-19? I have constant headaches as well. Kindly guide me if I need any medical attention.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thanks for the query. I can understand your concern. According to your statement, you have been suffering from constant headaches and low blood pressure. In addition, you had a history of COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) infection, and hopefully, your COVID-19 infection has subsided.

COVID-19 infection has a peculiar pattern. A COVID-19 positive patient may suffer from various associated complications or consequences like fatigue, weakness, headache, low pulse rate, low blood pressure, high blood sugar level, etc. So, your headache, as well as low blood pressure, may result from COVID-19 associated complications or consequences. You can take ORS (oral rehydration solution) twice daily for few days for your low blood pressure. You can also take eggs and meat regularly. For your headache, I suggest you,

1) Tablet Flurizin or Migarid or Fine (Flunarizine)10 mg at night for 15 to 30 days.

2) Tablet Vimovo (500 mg/20 mg) (Naproxen and Esomeprazole Magnesium Trihydrate) morning and afternoon (in case of headache).

You can undergo some investigations like CBC (complete blood count), RBS (random blood sugar), X-ray of PNS (paranasal sinuses - occipitomental view), urine routine and microscopy examination, etc., to exclude the causes of your headache. I hope the medications mentioned above and measures will help subside your headache and increase your blood pressure level. Take care. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
