Patient's Query

Hi Doctor,

I am often getting loose motion after every meal, and my stomach is also bloating. I had constipation for a few days and I feel a lot of stomach cramps and discomfort. Please let me know the exact issue and which treatment can be taken for this. Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

In your case, infective etiology must first be ruled out by stool routine micro examination and occult blood test. If stool analysis shows pus cells and bacteria, then the antibiotic course of the Ofloxacin plus Ornidazole combination should be prescribed for five days. You also need to be given a probiotic tablet course. Cooked oatmeal help in the soothing stomach. If stomach cramps are more than antispasmodic, Dicyclomine can be prescribed. Avoid gastric irritants like excess spicy foods, excess tea, coffee, smoking, and stress. If there is no improvement, a USG (ultrasonography) abdomen scan should be done for further workup. If no specific causes are found after examination and all reports, then only it can be labeled as a non-infective functional bowel problem. You can consult a gastroenterologist for examination if needed. Let me know if I can assist you further. Thank you.
