Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 43-year-old female. I ate something unusual yesterday, and I have a loose, watery stool. I also have stomach pain and discomfort. I lack a good appetite. What can I take to resolve this?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Have ORS (oral rehydration solution) 100 to 200 ml with each stool and keep yourself rehydrated. Drink as much as possible. You should visit a hospital to assess the hydration status, and you can also have IV fluids if needed. You can take capsule Vizylac (Lactobacillus 120 spores) or Sporlac sachet (Lactic acid Bacillus) three times a day for five days.

Take tablet Norflox TZ (Norfloxacin with Tinidazole) two times a day along with an antacid tablet Pantoprazole before breakfast once a day for five days. You should also take Racecadotril 100 mg three times a day to reduce the stool frequency and quantity up to a maximum of seven days. Also, take antispasmodic like Buscopan 20 mg (Hyoscine) half tablet whenever needed up to two to three times a day for the pain.
