Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My mother has been a BP patient for the last ten years and has been taking tablet Telmisartan 40 mg. She has got a minor heart attack ten years back, and since then, she has been on the same medication. But her blood pressure has fallen very low for the last two weeks. Is this normal? What should be done? Should we change the medicines?

I am worried, please help.

Hi,

Welcome to iCliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

It is not a normal finding. Therefore, I would suggest taking an ECG (echocardiogram) followed by an echo (echocardiography) and recommend reducing the dosage of the antihypertensive drug. I hope this will be helpful.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
