Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have had low hemoglobin of 10.60, though, in the last 15 days. I have been eating nutritious food and taking iron and folic acid capsules. Please help me because I need to increase the same, as I need to give reports to my company for health status.

Thank you.

Hello.

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have seen your reports (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). You have iron deficiency anemia. First of all, we need to kill worms in our body which can cause iron deficiency. The tablet Bandy (Albendazole) 400 mg once a day for three days will be more than enough for this purpose. Secondly, let me tell you that to correct anemia, three methods are available- blood transfusion, IV (intravenous) iron injections, and iron tablets. Blood transfusion can increase hemoglobin within one day, but this method is used only in seriously ill patients. IV iron injections will improve within one week, and iron tablets will take one month to increase hemoglobin.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
