Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have done some blood tests. I have high iron content with low RBC, hemoglobin and high levels of thyroid. Please suggest.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have noted your hemoglobin. RBC (red blood cells) and PCV (packed cell volume) are low with high bilirubin levels. It can be due to anemia especially hemolytic anemia in which the red blood cells get destructed and so HB (hemoglobin) falls down. You need to investigate peripheral smear examination, serum LDH (lactic acid dehydrogenase), and G6PD (glucose-6-phosphate-dehydrogenase) test. You can consult a hematologist or physician for doing a physical examination and further investigations.

An iron tablet-like ferrous ascorbate can be started. For low vitamin D, I suggest you take Cholecalciferol 60000 IU by dissolving it with milk. It has to be taken once a week for six weeks. Your glucose level is impaired and so you need to take low sugar and low fatty foods. Your TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone) levels are slightly raised. But T3 (triiodothyronine) and T4 (thyroxine) are absolutely normal. So do not worry about it. If you have any clinical complaints, then please let me know and I can guide you further.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Before two years, I had gall stones and fatty liver. The stones got cured by taking homeopathic treatment. I am just informing you about my medical history.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Fatty liver and gall stones can occur due to your more weight. Fatty liver is a benign condition and there is no need to worry about it. Gall stones can also occur due to more weight or hemolytic anemia. There is no need to worry when it got cured by taking homeopathy treatment. You need to maintain your BMI (body mass index) below 25 to get cured from fatty liver. I suggest you take more fruits, juices, green leafy vegetables, and low-fat food for treating fatty liver. Take iron tablet-like ferrous ascorbate and meanwhile investigate hemolytic anemia by doing peripheral smear examination, serum LDH estimation, G6PD test, and DCT (direct coomb's test) for further workup. You can consult a physician or hematologist for doing a further physical examination and work up.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
