Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

For the last one month, suddenly, my libido has decreased drastically. Two months back, I started doing some regular exercise, and that is why I forcibly tried to keep myself away from all those sexual content on the internet. At that time or before that, I was completely normal. But after ten days, due to lockdown, I could not continue my exercise and walking routine, and also, I felt that my libido had decreased suddenly. Now my penis takes much time to erect as compared to earlier days. The erection is hard, but the excitement has reduced substantially. I am very confused, all of a sudden, about what happened to my body. Please give your advice.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Low libido has many reasons:

1) Infections can be due to urine or prostate infection (can do urine complete an ultrasound pelvis to diagnose).

2) Diabetes or hypertension, make sure blood pressure and blood sugar are under control. If already on medication, share medication name?

3) Hormonal disturbances, low testosterone, low levels of thyroid, high levels of prolactin.

4) Obesity, plan for regular exercise and yoga.

5) High cholesterol, check for lipid profile, and plan for regular exercise.

6) Chronic disease or on any chronic medication. If so, share details.

7) Anxiety.

Need to do USG (ultrasonography) pelvis to rule out pelvic infection, thyroid check-up for free T3, T4, and TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone), lipid profile to know cholesterol level, blood pressure, and RBS (random blood sugar). Can use Mildfil (Tadalafil) 5 mg twice a day as a temporary solution. Please get back with the answers for further help.
