Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 43-year-old male. I am unable to have sex after two years of a gap with my partner. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern about your symptoms.

According to your complaints, you may be suffering from erectile dysfunction (ED). The reason for erectile dysfunction could be the following.

  • The long gap can be a reason which will be getting fine on its own. Continue your intimate moments.

Other causes include:

  • Stress due to work, family-related issues, or night duties. Plan for regular exercise and yoga.
  • Depression.
  • Varicocele. Ultrasound scrotum can help diagnose.
  • Fear of failure. Having one episode of ED once may make you feel you will end up with ED.
  • Low self-esteem due to chronic masturbation.
  • Homosexuality means being attracted to the same sex.
  • Religious constraints.
  • Smoking and alcohol.
  • Long-term illnesses like cardiac disease, thyroid disease, kidney disease, or any other disease with long-term medication.
  • Simple vitamin deficiency. If so, I suggest you use tablets Zincovit (multivitamins) and Shelcal (calcium and vitamin D3).
  • Negative attitude towards your partner.
  • A hormonal issue like a thyroid issue, low testosterone, increased prolactin.
  • Long-term drug usage.
  • Diabetes and hypertension.

I suggest you need to check the Doppler penis, USG (ultrasonography) pelvis and scrotum, blood pressure, RBS (random blood sugar), free T3, T4, testosterone, and TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone). Share more details regarding the above reasons so that we can work on diagnosis and treatment. You need to plan for regular exercise and a proper diet.

1. List of exercises: Basic exercises like Kegels, squats, yoga, running, or fast walking for five minutes.

2. Missionary sex possession: Planks, push-ups, mountain climbers, glute bridges.

3. Standing sex position: Bicep curls, pull-ups, and jump squats.

4. Doggy style: Jump squats and walking lunges.

5. Cowgirl or the girl on the top move: Glute bridges and leg raises.

6. Food modifications: Strawberry, apple, avocado, sweet potato, sesame seed, almond, garlic, and a little chocolate can be included in the diet.

7. Medications: For a temporary solution, I suggest can use the tablet Mildfil (Tadalafil) 5 mg twice a day.

Hope this has addressed your query and concern.

Kind regards.
