Hello doctor,

I was fat when I was young. But now I have become skinny. I guess it is because of the routine food culture of white rice and soups that we follow in our family. But now I prefer a healthy diet chart to gain weight. So please suggest your views and diet for weight gain.

To gain weight healthily, you need to build muscle, and I advise you to indulge in regular physical activity and a healthy diet.

I suggest the following.

1. Do not start eating oily or junk food to gain weight, because that would only lead to a gain in fat and health problems, like high cholesterol and heart disease. Instead, increase your protein intake in sprouts, nuts, egg white, and lean meats like fish and chicken for a healthy diet.

2. Do physical exercise regularly. Start by lifting lighter weights. Listen to your body, and slowly move on to heavier weights when it allows you.

3. Follow up your workouts by drinking protein supplements within ten minutes of completing your workout.

4. Instead of three meals daily, divide it into small meals every two hours. That makes it eight to twelve small meals in a day.

5. Sleep for eight hours daily.
