Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 21-year-old female and I have a lump or growth very near my rectum. This lump has been present for five months. It is not always painful, but there has been times when it got uncomfortable. I tried warm compresses and sitz baths but this only makes it get smaller and relieve the mild discomfort. It is smooth over the top and pretty firm to the touch. I have had other lumps, similar to it. I use antiseptic-antimicrobial soap to bathe with, but nothing seems to stop them from coming up. I bathe every day and I even stop shaving for a long time to see if it gave any relief. Unfortunately, it is not going away and more are popping up. Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your history and understand your concern, the lump of the groin area and face that you mentioned you had before are more like lymph node enlargement swellings that can arise due to some minor local or secondary infection and can subside on its own or with a short course of antibiotics. But to the swelling near or in the rectal area, mostly it is a perineal abscess, but need to rule out hernia, external hemorrhoids, anal warts, perianal hematoma, perianal hidradenitis suppurativa that is an infection affecting the sweat glands. Please get yourself examined by a doctor as if it is an abscess you need to get it drained as otherwise, it can lead to complications like fistula. I hope this helps.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
