Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 42 years old female, and I found a soft nodule on both sides of the floor of my mouth. They are painless. Kindly advise.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

In my opinion, it does not look like a cancerous outgrowth. But any soft or slow-growing lesions need to be checked in the clinic by the dental surgeon. Because the size of the outgrowth is moderate to large as per my observation, and you are having your braces or orthodontic treatment still, I would advise you to consult an in-clinic dentist without further delay. If needed, they will perform a biopsy. Through that, you will know by the pathology report what kind of lesion it is that has occurred suddenly or over a time period. Ranging from small lymphoid tissues to glomus benign tumors to ductal cysts, it can be any of these. So a differential diagnosis is needed. If the clinician suspects that the consistency or texture of the lesion is hard or immovable or fixated mass type, then definitely biopsy is recommended. So please see your dentist without further delay. No need to worry. As I mentioned earlier, it does not look precancerous either, but slow-growing oral lesions need diagnosis physically at the earliest. As this is a second opinion platform, I can guide you by sight only. Physical consistency examination, if needed, with biopsy and microscopy, can give you the ideal results.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
