Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have a small lump under my ear on what I assume to be my parotid gland. I first noticed it a year ago, but it has not increased in size, and I have no symptoms or pain related to it. Should I get it checked out? Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. If the lump is not growing in size, it is not disturbing you, or it is not affecting your lifestyle, there is no need to worry. It is benign and does not need treatment. If it is increasing in size or disturbing you somehow, I suggest FNAC (fine needle aspiration cytology) from the lump to identify its nature. The further treatment depends on the report. As of now, nothing to worry about and no need to stress out for a small benign lump. I hope you get well soon. Kindly revert in case of further queries. Thank you.
