Brown-sequard Syndrome

Brown-Séquard syndrome is an uncommon spinal condition caused by a traumatic injury to one side of the spinal cord. The affected person typically loses their sense of touch and vibrations. In addition, there is a chance that the patient might lose control of the bladder and bowels. Muscle weakness and degeneration (atrophy) may also occur in the affected area. Individuals with Brown-Séquard syndrome do not have a specific treatment. In most cases, treatment focuses on the disorder's underlying etiology.
