Night Cramps

Night cramps, also called nocturnal leg cramps, usually occurs while in bed and involve the cramping of muscles in the calves, thighs, and feet. Night cramps are involuntary contractions of the muscles in the legs and are painful in nature. Though there is no specific cause for night cramps, it has been observed that they are related to nerve problems and muscle fatigue. The possibility of having night cramps increase along with age, and it is more likely to appear in pregnant women. Stretching the calves and having a proper fit of shoes will help in reducing the risk of getting night cramps.
