Retractile Testicle

A retractile testicle is characterized by exaggerated cremasteric reflex, which results in to and fro movement of the testis. Cremasteric reflex happens when the testicle is pulled upwards due to cremaster muscle contraction. A vital sign of a retractile testicle is the absence of one or both testicles, which can be brought back to normal position without any pain by pulling it out. It usually does not require treatment and ends by itself after puberty. Rarely it can turn into an undescended testis which requires surgical correction.
