Skin Ulceration

A skin ulcer refers to an open sore that is caused due to poor blood flow. Skin ulceration is commonly seen in older people. A skin ulcer looks like a round open sore in the skin with the outer border slightly raised and thick. As the skin ulcer gets worse, it resembles a crater. Sometimes there is fluid or blood coming out of the ulcers. When the ulcers get infected, it needs to be treated immediately as the infection can spread throughout the body.
