Common "Teratospermia" queries answered by top doctors | iCliniq

Teratospermia

Teratozoospermia is a condition in which the semen contains defective sperms, with an inability to swim to the egg or fertilize the egg leading to infertility. The semen analysis detects it. Injury or infection to the testis, varicocele, tobacco smoking, weed-smoking, chronic alcoholism, vasectomy, diabetes, genetic defects, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and increased temperature of testicles due to environmental or other factors cause teratozoospermia. Lifestyle modifications along with increased intake of omega-3 fatty acids, amino acids, antioxidants, etc., help manage the condition. Intrauterine insemination, in-vitro fertilization, and intracytoplasmic morphologically selected sperm injection are the fertility treatment options available.
