Tetanus Injection

Tetanus injection is also known as tetanus toxoid, is a vaccine given against tetanus. Tetanus is caused by a bacteria called Clostridium tetani, which affects the brain and the nervous system causing painful muscle spasms, particularly in the jaw and neck. Five doses of tetanus injection are given during childhood and the sixth dose during adolescence. Booster doses are given every ten years to maintain immunity.
