Throat Culture Test

A throat culture test is helpful to find germs such as bacteria or fungus causing an infection. The sample of cells from the back of the throat is added up to a substance that promotes the growth of germs. When there is no growth of germs, then the culture is negative. When the germs cause infection to grow, the culture is positive.
