Tranexamic acid is an antifibrinolytic agent that is used to treat heavy menstrual bleeding. It works by slowing the blood clots from breaking down, thus prevents prolonged bleeding. The common side effects of this medicine are nausea, vomiting, muscle pain, and diarrhea.
