Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My sister is having some neurological problem. She is normal, but at times she feel uneasy and head spinning. We have consulted with a doctor since one year and a few days back for the same issue her doctor prescribed Metmax injection to be taken one per day for the next five days. But, after taking one injection, she is feeling very drowsy and not able to remember things and forgetting the past. I request you to kindly let me know the details of Metmax injection. Is it the right treatment?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com. Metmax injection is basically a vitamin B supplement. It is suppose to help with forgetfulness and other neurogenic symptoms, if they are because of vitamin B deficiency. As such there is no harm in taking it. But, if she is so much sleepy, then you can stop the injections. Since when she has this problem of feeling dizzy and spinning of head? How often it happens? Did it happen when she did not have her food on the day? How much is her hemoglobin level? If not checked recently, please check it and let me know. Meanwhile, for spinning of the head, I suggest tablet Vertin8 mg (Betahistine) twice a day after food. The side effect of this medicine is little sleepiness.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
