Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I do not have any health issues. But, my cholesterol level is high at 220. Do I need to take any medicine? Please let me know. I have attached my laboratory reports for your reference.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com. Yes, you should be started on statins, preferably Atorvastatin 10 mg at bedtime. Additionally, adopting a low-fat diet and engaging in regular exercise for 30 minutes daily is recommended. Do you have any other medical conditions aside from high cholesterol? Are you hypertensive or diabetic? May I know your age?

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I am not hypertensive or diabetic. My age is 35. My weight is 189.59 lb and height is 6 feet. Please check for the attached report.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com. Considering your age, I would suggest you avoid fatty foods and engage in regular exercise. I recommend taking tablet Storvas 10 mg (Atorvastatin) at bedtime and repeating the test after three months. However, it is essential to consult your specialist doctor, discuss the treatment plan with them, and take the medication with their consent. Tablet Fenofibrate is typically used to treat hypertriglyceridemia (high triglyceride levels). Although your test report indicates borderline levels (attachment removed to protect patient identity), we can consider starting this medication after three months if the levels do not improve through diet and exercise.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
