Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have had chronic knee pain since last year. I popped my knee a few months back and felt my knee breaking by itself. I have been on support since then and cannot extend my leg completely. I got my basic blood tests, EMG, CT scan, MRI, and Arthritis test done. All the reports have come back normal. Also, I had a meniscal clean-up surgery last year and have used multiple anti-inflammatory medications, but nothing has helped. My doctor feels that my knee cap is dislocated.

Kindly advise.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Meniscal tears on the inner side of the knee take a lot of time to heal. The surgery can be done by an arthroscopic or open approach. It involves the removal or suturing of the torn meniscal parts. Surgery needs to be performed by an arthroscopic or knee surgeon, followed by post-surgical follow-up treatment and rehabilitation with rehabilitation therapists. Do share details of your surgery and post-discharge rehabilitation. Also, I suggest you reduce body weight with diet and exercise under expert guidance which will help you heal better.

I hope this helps.

Kindly revert in case of further questions.

Thank you.
