Hi doctor
I am 26 years old. My concern is about my periods. Over the last one year, I am having bleeding only for two days on average when compared to three, four and five days in my early age. I request you to please suggest me if this is fine for my age or something is not good for conceiving a baby in future. We have decided to plan baby by next year.

If you are having regular periods and flow is also fine, then it does not matter whether two days or four or five. It has nothing to do with age. If you are planning to conceive, then it is fine. Get your thyroid and prolactin levels done and a basic ultrasound. I think everything will be fine. Also, I will advise you to take Folic acid regularly for at least a month prior to conception.

It is your personal choice and your priorities. I think this is the right time to plan as you already are thinking of conceiving after a year and sometimes things may not work as you expect. With age, your eggs also keep on maturing. It is good that you are maintaining your BMI (body mass index). Eat healthily and keep fit and stress-free for good results and do not delay much. All the best.
