What should a woman do if her periods are irregular?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello,

I have irregular periods. Neither do I have a polycystic ovarian disease (PCOD), nor am I pregnant. I am not obese, and I do not have any medical history. I miss periods for 50 days sometimes. I am 26 years old and unmarried.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It seems to be due to some hormone disturbance. Do an ultrasound of the abdomen to rule out polycystic ovarian disease (PCOD). Meanwhile, take one tablet of Primolut-N (Norethisterone) twice a day for five days. Periods will occur within a few days of stopping Primolut-N. Later on, do the following:

  1. Do perineal and pelvic exercises regularly.
  2. Go for walks regularly.
  3. Take flax seeds regularly.
  4. Take two capsules of Evecare twice a day for three months to regulate your menstrual cycle naturally.
