Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 48-year-old female, and I am mentally distraught. This past year my 18-year-old daughter's horse died, I caught my husband with a woman in my bed, and my father died in his home, which was 100 feet from my home. I filed for divorce, my husband filed for bankruptcy with the company I had worked at for 21 years, and I was married to him for 19 years. He has stripped me of everything, leaving me in debt. No home, no car, no money, and no job. He has taken everything, and I feel like losing my mind. I cannot sleep, I have bad dreams, I cannot eat proper food, I cannot get a job, and I cannot comprehend anything. What can I do to feel human again or get my life back? I have no money or job and living in my father's home because it is still in probate. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I am very sorry for your loss and what you have been going through. It is very limited what I can do being online. But I will still try and motivate you. You have suffered a lot in the past few years. Having extramarital affairs and cheating on your spouse has almost become a trend, sadly. But after what your husband did, I guess you will accept you are better off without him. Since you are alone, try to engage in more hobbies, such as writing or singing. Try to maintain a diary, and it is a good habit. You can spend hours writing. I know it is very tough for you, but remember, you will find genuine people who will try to help you. If it is feasible, try getting a job that will keep you preoccupied. At times getting a pet or a puppy also helps because they shower you with such unconditional love you do not feel lonely. So try doing that. It will help if you get help from a psychologist who can help you regularly. Also, I would suggest you take a tablet of Alprax (Alprazolam) 0.5 mg once before sleeping for the next few days to lessen your anxiety and provide good sleep. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with them and take medicines with their consent. But do not use it for the long term since you can develop addiction and other side effects.

I hope it helps. Thank you.
