Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I was diagnosed with cancer recently. And it has metastasized to the lung, adrenal gland, and liver. I have attached my reports for your reference.

Kindly help, doctor.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thanks for the query.

After reviewing your radiological reports (attachments removed to protect the patient’s identity), there are malignant lesions involving the upper part of the left lung with regional lymphadenopathy and adrenal mass with diffuse abdominal lymphadenopathy, including inguinal nodes.

As per your report given by the radiologist, the primary malignancy started in the lungs and metastasized to the abdomen and adrenal. But, I am more in favor of primary to be adrenal malignancy with secondaries in the abdomen and lungs. So, the next step is a tru-cut biopsy from the easily accessible lesion, which I feel is an inguinal lymph node. This confirms the primary site and treatment can be planned, which will be most likely palliative only.

Thanks.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

I am a pharmacist myself, and I agree that it is a primary adrenal tumor that has metastasized. Until I get the biopsy done, can you provide me with some information on the following :

If we assume it is a primary adrenal tumor that has metastasized, would this be possibly treated? What do you think the prognosis would be?

Thanks so much.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

My opinion is, if it is primarily an adrenal tumor, usual chemotherapy is not very effective in some target agents. It is challenging to say the effectiveness of the treatment.

Thanks.
