Patient's Query

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com. I am 27 years old and married to my best friend for the last two years. But over a period of time, we have been fighting over issues. Although we still love each other a lot, in the midst of arguments he gets angry and hits my head. I, in turn, hit him. In fact pretty harder than he does and this continues. I have tried controlling my reaction many times but eventually, I was losing respect for him and losing self-respect too. So, every time he hits me now, I hit him back too. And it happens as a reflex. Most of these issues happen while we are in the car. So every time he hits me using his right hand on the left side of my head. I already have sensitivity on that side of the head close to the ear. And I do not know the reason for this pain. The last time it happened five days back and my head is hurting since then. The left side, a few inches above the ear. Is there anything I should be worried about? Also, I was expecting my period in two to three days. My usual period starts with spotting and after two days of spotting the flow increases. But post this incident my period came the very next day. I saw a lot of blood right at the start which has never happened in the last 16 years. I have polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and a fibroid near my right ovary. I am also trying to get pregnant. My mother is a gynecologist. I told her I have hurt my head somewhere and so it hurts. She did not take it seriously because of the way I said and she doesn't want me to be exposed to radiations by taking computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans for a normal pain. I cannot tell her that this has been happening for a couple of times. My husband really loves me but then he gets angry and does this sometimes and regrets later. He has never looked down on me or hurt me otherwise. But he gets angry easily for the silliest stuff. I do not see any swelling in my head but it is highly sensitive to touch and pains a lot. I would like to know the following: 1. Is there anything I should be worried about my head? 2. Will this affect fertility? 3. Will there be any complications in future? 4. Any other relevant information?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com. I do not think there is anything to worry about. However, I do have a few questions. 1. Since when do you have this pain? 2. Is it associated with nausea? 3. Do you have any sensitivity to sound, sensitivity to light during that time? 4. How long does a headache last? 5. Any family history of a migraine?

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply, I am having the pain for past four days. After the incident. But in that portion of my head, I had a sensitivity to touch for almost eight to nine months. I do get migraines when I do not eat food properly, get exposed to the sun a lot, and when I eat cinnamon. And yes I do have a sensitivity to light and sound when I have migraines. But this is not like my migraines. I am an adopted child. So my parent's history will not be useful to relate to mine.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com. So basically you do have a migraine. Coming back to your questions: 1. No, you should not be worried about your headache (but I think you should seek a couple counseling sessions from a psychiatrist or psychologist). 2. No, this will not affect your fertility. 3. Your current symptoms do not indicate any future childbearing issues.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
