Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I was diagnosed with stress. My BP was fluctuating like it was 130/90 in the evening and 140/90 in the night. My sugar is normal, and my TSH is high 10.6. I was taking anti-anxiety tablets, but a few days before, only I stopped. I was having a head rush, not dizziness. Doctor gave me some vitamins, iron tablets, and calcium. After that, he said, if you want, you can go for a brain scan later. Now I want to know if a brain scan is required. I want to know why I am having headrush and also headache.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I think that there is no reason to perform a brain CT (computed tomography) scan as nothing serious is going on. I am sure that your symptoms are related to thyroid gland dysfunction or stress. Your blood lab tests are quite normal (attachment removed to protect patient identity) besides borderline vitamin B12 plasma levels.

I hope this helps.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

But I said that in the thyroid, there would be no palpitation or head rush. As I am hypothyroid. Headrush comes and goes for minutes. What can be the reasons?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Are you taking Synthroid or any other thyroid hormone tablets? They can lead to such symptoms as a common adverse effect. If this effect does not subside, I would recommend trying Alprazolam and see if it helps. In such a case, you should consider anxiety as the main cause underlying your complaints.

I would also recommend checking vitamin D plasma levels for possible deficiency.

I hope this helps.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

If I feel headrush, palpitation, and headache. What shall I do immediately, and how to be sure that it is not a migraine?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Your symptoms are not suggestive of a migraine because the symptoms are persistent for more than three days. Anyway, I would recommend taking Propranolol 40 mg, three times daily, half a tablet (60 mg daily), and see if it improves your symptoms.

Otherwise, consulting with a neurologist and performing a brain MRI may be necessary.

I hope this helps.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
