Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am suffering from pain in my head on the left side for the past six months. I went to the hospital and consulted the doctor. He told me that I have migraines. I feel to have a sore head and I feel like something is pushing on the top of my head against the left side. I have numbness and when I move my head left to right it becomes worst. My left eye keeps twitching continuously and I am unable to stop it. When I move my jaw from left to right, I have weird pain or tension and I do not know how to explain it. When I move my jaw, I have soreness in my left side and it goes up to my eyebrows. I have a blocked nose every day on the left side and sometimes when I move my jaw it unblocks my nose for seconds. I am trying to consult a neurologist soon and please help me with this concern.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern and your symptoms are due to migraines. Another issue can be due to a sinus problem and I suggest it based on the description of your complaints. For this reason, I would recommend you to do a sinus X-ray to exclude a possible sinus infection and it needs to be treated soon.

There is no need to take a brain CT (computed tomography) scan due to its risk of radiation and you are at a young age. I do not think that you have a serious issue based on your complaints. I would like to exclude a brain tumor or any other serious medical condition. Considering the pandemic situation, avoid going to the emergency for performing a brain MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) or CT scan during this period. The jaw issue can occur due to a sinus infection or due to local temporomandibular joint inflammation. Twitching in the left eye can occur due to sinus infection or due to anxiety. Avoid taking caffeine and take plenty of water to stay hydrated.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
