Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I used Minoxidil for two months and stopped it a week back because I developed severe dark circles and sunken eyes. But, I do not see any difference under my eyes after stopping this. Will I ever get rid of them? How long will it take for the dark circles to disappear? Kindly give your suggestions.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. Minoxidil is a medication that treats hair loss. It can cause side effects like dark circles and sunken eyes. However, it can be diagnosed after a proper medical examination. It is common for side effects to persist for a short period after discontinuation of a medication. However, the time it takes for side effects to resolve can vary depending on the individual and the specific side effect. Sometimes, it can take several weeks or months for side effects to resolve completely. I suggest you consult a dermatologist to evaluate your symptoms. The doctor might also recommend an alternative treatment for hair loss if necessary. If Minoxidil causes dark circles and sunken eyes, they will improve over time, but it may take weeks or months. I hope this helps you. Thank you.
