Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I had a missed abortion recently, and after two months, I was kept on tablet Letrozole (Femara) 2.5 mg OD and Progynova (Estradiol valerate) 2 mg from the sixth to the ninth day of the follicular study. During the follicular study of the right ovary, a 9x7 mm follicle and ET 4.8 mm, and also a small fibroid (intramural ) 8x7 mm was noted. Now can I continue the tablet Progynova because I have fibroid? What to do for follicle growth as it is not good for nine days? In my previous pregnancy (which turned out to be a missed abortion) also, I was kept on tablet letrozole 2.5 mg OD and tablet Progynova. Please suggest to me what I should do now.

Hi

Welcome to icliniq

I understand your concern

Though the follicle grows less on day nine and day 10, the growth increases more towards day 14. So do not worry. You must keep track of the growing follicle on day 10, 12, 14, and 16. Chances are more that growth will increase. The fibroid of small size is not much to worry about. So you continue progynova as well.

Another thing is that you can stop the tablet Progynova (Estradiol valerate) in the next cycle and take the tablet Duphaston (Dydrogesterone) 10mg twice a day from day 17 to day 26. Also, add a tablet of Folvite (Folic acid) 5 mg daily after breakfast. Do a serum vitamin d assay as well. It is a blood test.

Hope this answers your questions. Feel free to reach out for any further questions
