Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 31 years old. My period starts one week before the due date, but this time nothing happened as earlier. I have eaten lots of cashew nuts, almonds, raisins, and other nuts, hope they did not affect my period. I am worried and I do not want to conceive a baby at this time.

Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Periods might fluctuate by one or two weeks due to some stress or recent illness. Nuts are beneficial to your health but they would not affect the menstrual cycle. I do not know when you had intercourse so it is difficult for me to tell you about the possibility of getting pregnant. If you had unprotected intercourse around your ovulation day then there is some possibility of getting pregnant, others wise there is very less chance of getting pregnant. I would suggest waiting till two weeks after your due date, even if periods do not come then do a urine pregnancy test, because, in the early days, the kit might show false results.

Thank you.
