Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I stopped taking birth control pills four weeks ago. Last week I had abdominal pain for about three days and was associated with constipation and gas. This week I should have got my periods, but not yet. I have cramps that tend to remain the same. My nipples have also seemed more erect over the last week. My boyfriend and I have never had sex, but we have done stuff with clothes on, but the ejaculate is always on the front of my underwear, not by the crotch. But we have showered together, and his penis may have touched my vaginal area without cum. Could I be pregnant, or is this a side effect of stopping birth control pills?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. The symptoms you are having might or might not be associated with stopping birth control pills. There are very few chances that you are pregnant. You can take a pregnancy test after waiting for a week if you do not get periods. If the pregnancy test comes negative and you do not get periods, then seek medical help. The reason can be stress or hormonal imbalance caused due to stopping the birth control pills. After carefully evaluating your health, your doctor will suggest appropriate management depending on the underlying cause.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
