Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a question about my partner who missed her period. We recently had unprotected sex, and she consumed a contraceptive pill even though I did not ejaculate. But for precaution she took the pill. She had her periods shortly after that and it lasted for five days. Again, after three days, we had unprotected sex unfortunately for the second time, and she took another pill because we had a doubt that I might be having premature ejaculation. Later after seven to eight days, she bled again for the second time in the same month which was not very heavy bleeding and lasted for four days. She missed her monthly periods and it is almost 10 days now. Why is that so please let me know.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I-pill often causes irregular bleeding. This is due to high doses of progesterone. The fact that she has taken two tablets in one month has caused hormonal changes. So based on the fact that she took the second pill and had bleeding seven days after that, she might have her menses a bit later than her due date. She does not have to worry about.

Take care.
