Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I missed my period for two months and checked with a self-pregnancy test. As per the instructions given on the test for five minutes, the result was negative, but after 30 to 40 minutes light pink hue color was displayed between C and T. First month, two days before my period date, I had a bus and a train journey and second month during my period date, I got affected with chicken pox. Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

When did your the last menstrual period commence? Since you are in doubt about seeing two lines in the pregnancy test and one line appearing after some time, what you need to do is repeat the test after five days again. Preferably morning sample urine only.

Sometime in early pregnancy, there will be a faint or thin line. If that is the case, you need to wait another five days and report the test again and, as I said, only morning sample urine.

Hope this helps.

Thanks and take care.
