If you have a history of unprotected intercourse, then pregnancy should be ruled out. Urine hCG card tests can be done at home, but they will give conclusive results after one week of a delayed period. So after one week of the delayed period, you can investigate with a urine hCG card test. If you want to check early, a blood hCG detection test can be done. Stress, fasting, excess exercise, ovarian cause, diabetes, thyroid problem, hormonal imbalance, etc., are other causes.
