Mitral Valve Prolapse (MVP) is a heart valve condition where the two flaps of the mitral valve bulge into the left atrium and do not close properly. The heart valve that is present between the left atrium and left ventricle is called the mitral valve. Sometimes, this condition results in mitral valve regurgitation, which is blood leaks back into the left atrium from the left ventricle.
