Is bio-oil recommended for moisturizing the penis, or does it damage the penis?

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have been using bio-oil on my penis to moisturize it. Have been doing this for two weeks, twice a day. I have stopped using it after hearing that it is not recommended for that use. Could the usage of the oil damage penile sensitivity or even cause any permanent damage, even slightly?

If not, why is this highly not recommended?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

The penis is by itself richly supplied with sebaceous glands which secrete natural oils. This is to ensure lubrication of the structure and that secretions increase further during sexual acts. Excessive oil could, at times, block the pores on the skin of the genitalia and thus lead to folliculitis, which is a bacterial infection. Applying bio-oil does not harm the penis or the sexual potential. However, the structure, by itself, being well-oiled, does not require any external applications. Using such oils during sexual intercourse if you find it dry and rough sex may help. For general use, it is not required.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thanks for your response.

Just to clarify, does the bio-oil not damage the touch receptors in any way?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

No, it should not affect the receptors anyways. The only use would be for lubrication.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thanks for the reply.

Sorry for all the questions.

Over the past years, my penis has lost sensation, and I have 95 percent shorter ejaculations. My penis used to be super sensitive, and the climax was around 30 minutes. Now it is like two minutes and still pleasurable, just not as extreme as before. Any treatment you would recommend? Should I get something prescribed by a dermatologist?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

The time for reaching ejaculation depends on multiple factors, which include psychological, physical, emotional, etc. At your age, it should not at all be a reason for concern. Things change with age. I do not suggest any treatment as of now.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thanks for the response.

I heard that coffee could break down collagen and make your skin age faster. But I love coffee so much, should I quit coffee? Or are there precautions I can take to make sure that I do not receive these effects?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Too much of anything could be dangerous. One to two cups of coffee would be good enough. It also provides antioxidants to your skin and takes care of cellulite too. However, too much of it is harmful and could cause premature aging.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

For nighttime facial treatment, could I combine Tretinoin, vitamins C, E, and folic acid serums?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

You could try, but be watchful for dryness and photosensitivity. Use sunscreen and moisturizer in the mornings.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
