Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My 26 years old son has social phobia, insecurity, anger, adamancy, irritation, unsatisfaction, doubts, and loneliness. Symptoms are present for many years but for the last two years, it has aggravated a lot. He does not leave the house or meet people, never speaks and blames me for everything. He behaves like a kid. He never helps anyone nor does he help anyone. Stays away from sympathy and love. Please advise me the treatment.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The problems you have mentioned like blaming you for his faults, not listening to others, irritability, anger outbursts, suspiciousness, remaining alone, etc., could be occurring due to some underlying mood disturbance. Suspiciousness could be due to some psychotic pathology. This should be evaluated by a psychiatrist. He does not go out and does not interact with others and this is resulting in impairment in functioning. These symptoms cannot be ignored. You have to take him to a psychiatrist. If he is not getting ready to visit, which he will do, then please visit a psychiatrist and discuss management. He might be suffering from bipolar disorder or some psychosis based upon the history you mentioned. But the final diagnosis should be made only after taking a detailed history. With medicines, he will be alright.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
