Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I was eating a hot curry last week when the top of my mouth blistered over as if I had burnt the hard palate, which I thought was unusual as I felt the heat on my tongue first but did not. The blister has gone but left a small dent in my hard palate which I am concerned about as it is leaving a bad taste in my mouth. Is this common?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Yes, this is common. You do not need to worry. The mucosa of palate is very sensitive as compared to the tongue. So it gets affected easily. You just put an Oral gel Clinica (Chlorhexidine with Metronidazole) gel on the spot for three days and three times a day. Then give me a follow up after five days. Hopefully, everything will be fine. New mucosa on palate grows after almost 10 days.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
