Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have bumps in the palatal area, and I am not taking any medications for it. Is this treatable? Kindly help.

Answered by Dr. Mehak Agarwal

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query. I understand your concern. It could be an oral ulcer due to local trauma of mucosa of the oral cavity (due to spicy or hot food). Are you diabetic? Do you smoke or consume alcohol? I suggest you to follow a few instructions mentioned below. 1. Take anti-inflammatory enzymes like trypsin. 2. Take tablet Paracetamol (anti-inflammatory) for five days. Kindly consult a specialist, talk to them and take the medications with their consent. 3. Take antacids or proton pump inhibitors for a week. 4. Apply local ointment having antibiotics and anesthetic agents after food four times a day for a week. 5. Do chlorhexidine mouth gargles for a week three times daily after food (before applying ointment). 6. Avoid hot and spicy food. 7. Drink plenty of water. I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your reply. No, I am not diabetic. I do not drink alcohol. I used to smoke but medicinal, not cigarettes. I have stopped them.

Answered by Dr. Mehak Agarwal

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I suggest you start with the treatment mentioned above. Avoid drinking hot or warm water. Consume water at room temperature as hot food and drinks hinder healing. I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
