Common "Mucocele" queries answered by top doctors | iCliniq

Mucocele

Mucocele is a benign mucus containing cyst of the minor salivary gland. The causes are lip biting, lip sucking, or other trauma. It often occurs on the inner side of the lip without pain and varies in size. It ruptures on its own and gets resolved within 3 to 6 weeks. If it remains persistent, it is treated by cryotherapy, laser treatment, or surgery to remove the cyst.
