Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have pain on the left side of my head near my neck. I feel that it is my neck pain that is hurting my head. Sometimes, when I turn my head, the pain is relieved. What could it be? Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. The pain is not due to bone, as the pain will be constant and does not subside on turning the head. Given that it does subside with the turning of your head, it can be due to the tendon that connects your neck and head, like the sternocleidomastoid or trapezius muscle. It is most likely a muscle spasm or slight strain, depending on how long it has been there and how bad it is. If it is mild to moderate, I suggest you apply a hot compress. I hope this helps. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
